Welcome to my home studio tour! Just a month ago I decided to live the dream and move into a high rise in San Francisco, which only meant one thing, LIMITED SPACE! Literally going from a comfortable 1 bedroom to a 500 sq. ft. place has been quite the challenge! I had 3 basic requirements (1) be closer to work (2) view of the bay bridge and (3) LOTS of sunlight! The most exciting part of this whole experience was envisioning how I wanted to decorate my new place!
Step 1: Have a Vision
Get ideas from IG or Pinterest OR find a local interior designer to help you. I got lucky and found Bill Burns Design who had over 20+ years of experience and worked with top brands like Pottery Barn. All I did was send him a panoramic picture of my unit, gave him ideas of what I wanted, sent him furniture that I already had, and he sketched it out! He really helped reduce my stress level throughout this move. He is AWESOME to work with and has become a really great friend. Check him out on his website or IG!
Step 2: Have a Plan
Have a budget. Find coupons for larger furniture items or wait for a big sale. I was able to sell a lot of my old furniture to get new ones. I use Craigslist, Letgo, and Facebook.
Step 3: Make time to Execute your Vision!
It’s time to go shopping! Be smart and not everything has to be an impulse buy. I love getting a mix of high end brands like Anthropologie, Crate & Barrel, CB2, West Elm, Nordstrom, Pier 1 Imports, Wayfair, Houzz for the bigger purchases. Then for the rest of the items, I love Target, World Market Cost Plus, Nordstrom Rack, Urban Outfitters, Amazon, Homegoods or Marshalls.
NOW LET’S GET INTO THE DEETS!
First, the trick is to find a statement piece and then all else will follow. In this case, I knew I wanted a velvet pink couch and spent a lot of time finding the right one. Then I got the acrylic coffee table since I wanted an illusional effect.
LIVING ROOM DECOR : couch (similar here or here) // marble and gold laptop table // acrylic coffee table // faux fur white rug // white pouf ottoman // geometric object decor // mongolian lamb fur pillows // gold lamp
The next most important thing for me was my deskspace (especially when the bay bridge is the reflection)! I’m always at my desk working and knew I needed the perfect space to get my creativity juices always flowing.
DESK DECOR: desk (similar)// gold mirror // velvet grey chair // sonos music player // alexa echo dot // echo dot sleeve case // succulent mouse pad // gold geometric sphere // gold lamp (similar). check this post for how I automate my home.
My bedroom decor was also a very important part of the design because it’s a studio, so there is nothing really to separate my living room and bedroom. It’s all kind of right there as you enter. Most of my furniture remained the same with a few small decor changes.
BEDROOM DECOR: white tufted bedframe // white knit blanket throw // gold round mirror // pink velvet pillows // gold knobs replacement for night stand // silver vase // pink vase // pink peonies // green faux monstera leaf
I have a little more work to do on this space, but the idea is to have a nice dinner or a glass of wine with a view! I also plan to use it as a little nook area for down time. The acrylic ghost chairs was the perfect idea!
NOOK/DINING DECOR: acrylic ghost chairs // marble tulip table // white vase // white faux cherry blossom flowers // diptyque baies candle // gold floor lamp
LIVING ROOM DECOR: media console // gold knobs replacement // gold floor standing mirror // white pouf ottoman //faux fur white rug //geometric object decor
That’s all for now friends! Come back for more detailed tours of each room!

Jenny
